One of the most prolific submission artists in UFC history, former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum also has shown his ability to finish fights standing.
Werdum (23-8-1 MMA, 11-5 UFC) is the only man to submit both Fedor Emelianenko and Cain Velasquez, picking up major upsets in both bouts.
Winner of two of his last three, Werdum is coming off a knockout loss to Alexander Volkov in March 2018 and hasn’t competed since because of a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency suspension.
Werdum is set to return this Saturday at UFC 249, when he takes on Aleksei Oleinik.
