The Great Handshake Controversy of 2019 has come full circle. Hours after 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman accused Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield of refusing to shake his hands during the pregame coin toss on Monday night, videos from multiple angles captured from inside Levi’s Stadium sure appear to show Sherman and Mayfield did indeed shake hands.
Sherman gave a lengthy postgame quote to NFL.com’s Michael Silver discussing Mayfield’s supposed snub and disrespect for the brotherhood of NFL players and the game.
Now it’s time to question Sherman’s motivation in at least embellishing, if not outright fabricating, the controversy.
