Video production company Dead Pixel Films reports ‘best quarter to date’ as industry ‘gets back on its feet’

A Manchester-based video production company has said it has recorded its ‘best quarter to date’.

Dead Pixel Films said revenue was up 32 per cent year on year in the months of from June to August and it saw an ‘uptick’ in commissions over the period.

The company, which has created videos for brands including Myprotein, Frankie & Benny’s and HECK!, said it has added seven new clients to its existing roster in the last three months.

Dead Pixel Films said it has employed a number of freelancers in the last few months as a result of its increased success and is planning full-time job opportunities in the near future.

Cal Thomson, director of photography at Dead Pixel Films, said it has been a “tough few months” but is “pleased to see the industry get back on its feet”.

He said: “Following what was an uncertain period of time for everybody, it has been an exciting and busy couple of months for us, especially as we move into new areas in our lifestyle category, including work with local interiors brand Rose & Grey.

“Considering the knock-on effect of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s great to see both brands and agencies back doing what we do best and we’re happy to be able to provide work for a number of creative roles.”

However, he added: “We’re definitely not out of the woods yet as an industry, but it’s all hands on deck and we’re excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us all.”
