New England Patriots receiver Josh Gordon is trying for yet another comeback. As first reported by veteran reporter Howard Balzer and then confirmed by ESPN on Wednesday, Gordon has filed for reinstatement to the NFL.
He was suspended indefinitely in late December of last year for violating the terms of a previous reinstatement, also regarding the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Gordon has struggled with substance abuse throughout his college and pro days, leading to multiple suspensions since being drafted in 2012 by the Cleveland Browns.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is the only person in the league who can determine Gordon’s status with the NFL, as well as the timing in which a decision will be made.
