Video of Dublin man's gate squeaking famous Paul McCartney and Wings song 'Mull of Kintyre' when it opens goes extremely viral on Twitter

The sound of a Dublin man's gate has been breaking the Internet over the past day.

Martin Byrne living in Drumcondra posted a short video on his Twitter of him opening the metal gate which bizarrely whines out one of the most famous songs of the 70s.

It squeaks out the song title of the Paul McCartney and Wings 70s classic 'Mull of Kintyre which sounds exactly like the bagpipes in the tune.

In less than 24 hours, the video has been viewed nearly one million times with hundreds of thousands of interactions.

Martin told Dublin Live that he only realised that it sounded like the song when he opened it on Saturday.

He said: "It's ridiculous. I don't plan on fixing it though. I might try and teach it to play some Irish tunes though like Fontaines D.C.!"

And it turns out that there's a lot of gates in Ireland that make famous sounds when they are being opened and closed.

One person said: "I found a toilet door in Ireland that plays the music from 'Jaws'."

Another said: "My gate sounds like the beginning of The Stone Roses song 'Waterfall'".

And one thing that everyone was in agreement on was that Martin is never allowed fix it.

"You must NEVER oil that gate", one person commented while another said "that gate needs some UB40, not WD40."
