'Moon worshipper cult' caught praising 'Blood Moon' in bizarre Snapchat video

A ‘cult’ of ‘moon-worshippers’ were caught praising rare lunar activity on a video that went viral on social media.

The group were seen raising their hands towards the sky and chanting on the short clip, which a passer-by captured on Snapchat and captioned the post: ‘Come across a cult’.

The rare ‘Blood Moon’ which was full on Sunday evening was the feature of the group’s celebrations.

Some claim that the specific type of moon is a sign of the beginning of the end of times.

With other experts proclaiming that the moon is said to heighten the activity of the mind, amplifying conscious thoughts as well as pulling sub-conscious ones to the surface/conscious mind.

Meditating during the full moon is said to provide an opportunity to connect deeply with our inner wisdom and with nature.

Dozens of people were at the Portmarnock beach and were chanting and cheering loudly on Sunday evening, according to a report in Dublin Live.

The video on Snapchat showed the large crowd being directed by a man show told them to 'raise their arms up and let out a big cheer,' before the group erupted into loud screams.

A garda (police) spokesman told Dublin Live: “Proactive patrols were carried out in the area as part of routine policing operations.

“Personal social responsibility, wearing of face coverings in open spaces and social distancing are public health guidelines and are not penal regulations.

“The Covid-19 Pandemic remains a public health crisis and An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to all citizens to demonstrate personal and social responsibility to comply with Public Health Guidelines and Regulations, in order to continue to save lives.”
