Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan announced the Chinese name of their daughter while marking the Chinese New Year on Sunday.
The video post on Facebook showcases Zuckerberg flaunting his Mandarin skills and announcing her Chinese name, Cheng Mingyu. The couple was joined by two-month-old Max dressed in a red and gold traditional Chinese outfit.
The baby girl also has an English name, Maxima – or Max for short.
The couple also revealed the symbolism behind the Chinese name. Cheng represents Priscilla’s family name while Mingyu is a combination of bright and the universe.
Together, it represents their hope for a brighter future.
