A video filmed by a shocked passer-by shows a rat running down a street in Nottingham city centre before sneaking into the HSBC bank.
The mischievous rodent can be seen running along Lincoln Street before slipping into the bank in Clumber Street, which is one of the busiest shopping streets in Europe.
Once the rat entered HSBC, it ran past a number of unsuspecting shoppers before backing into a corner of the room.
However, the fate of the rodent is unknown at this time, but it is unlikely that it entered HSBC to do some personal banking.
