Video captures moment lorry drives wrong way down Swansea dual carriageway

A lorry was driven the wrong way down one of Swansea's busiest roads.

Darren Richards was driving home to Port Talbot along Fabian Way with his two children, aged five and 18 months, when the lorry came heading towards them on Saturday afternoon.

The lorry is travelling into the city centre, but is captured travelling in the right hand lane of the dual carriageway heading out of the city.

Dashcam footage captures the moment cars had to brake suddenly and quickly switch lanes in order to avoid the oncoming lorry.

Mr Richards, 39, said: "We had gone out for the day and I had the kids in the car.

"We were coming along Fabian Way and a lorry just came straight towards us.

Mr Richards added: "I just thought 'where the hell did that come from?'.

"It was really close, closer than the camera shows, so it was very close to being a car pile-up.

"It shook me up. It only hit me when we got to the Briton Ferry bridge and I was shaking."

Mr Richards said that the dashcam footage has been sent to South Wales Police .

The company named on the side of the lorry, J Carrion, has been contacted for comment.
