Video captures hilarious moment Dancing Grannies perform in Bulwell to mark shop opening

Hilarious video footage has captured two grannies dancing in Bulwell town centre to mark the opening of a new mobility shop.

They performed to the tune of American rapper Flo Rida's Low as Mobility Care Bulwell opened in Banks Yard, near Shoe Zone.

Business owner Aaron Johnson, 29, of Bulwell, decided to book the Dancing Grannies troupe to make people smile and draw them in.

"I only thought of this 48 hours ago, literally last minute," he said, ahead of the performance on Friday, March 22.

"It put a smile on people's faces and going to get people laughing and talking. Banks Yard needs to make people smile."

The video shows a number of people watching and enjoying the performance.

Aaron booked the duo who performed wearing cardigans and skirts to the beat of a loud speaker.

Aaron's brother, Chris, 32, of Bulwell, manages the shop which sells reclining chairs, mobility scooters, stairlifts, mattresses and also offers servicing and repair services.

"My slogan is we need to not just match prices, we beat them. We want to be as cheap as possible for people," said Aaron.

Aaron, a dad-of-two, also runs a Mobility Care shop based at the Cossall Industrial Estate, in Ilkeston, and decided the time was right to open his second shop in Bulwell.

"We have been looking at Bulwell for about 12 months. We kept looking for the right location," he said.

"As few shops did not materialise. We found a cracking shop in Banks Yard. The shop needed a full refit, and we turned it around in three weeks.

"With it being my stomping ground - I am Bulwell born and bred - it was a no brainer."

Aaron is on the lookout for two part-time members of staff.

He appeared on the popular Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me three years ago.

He finished third and cooked a roast dinner, coming up against contestants who dished up Bollywood, Mexican and Indian dishes.

He described it as a "fabulous" experience.
