Residents in Kimberley have described the moments a cash machine was raided in the early hours of the morning.
Nottinghamshire Police were called at around 3.30am following reports of an ATM being broken into at the Premier Store in Eastwood Road.
The bomb disposal squad was called out and cash was taken from the machine.
One neighbour was woken by the explosion and took a video of the moment a car drove away from the scene.
He said: "I was woken up by a huge explosion followed by a scraping noise.
"I looked out of the window to see man near the machine. There was shrapnel everywhere. He had clearly overcooked whatever he used to make the explosion because there was shrapnel on the other side of the road.
"I could see him shoving notes into his hoodie and then he drove off, he can't have got away with much because it looked like he left loads behind."
The man was among a number of residents who had called the police following the explosion.
He said the emergency services arrived around 15 minutes later and the area was cordoned off.
Lee Share, 47, of Truman Street walked past the scene after it happened.
He said: "I woke up this morning to go to work and came past at 5.45am to see bomb disposal units and two soldiers walking around checking it and the police have cordoned it off.
"it totally threw me when i saw them and I saw the ATM machine ripped to bits."
Nottinghamshire Police said specialised officers had made the scene safe for the public. Officers have now left the scene.
