ABU DHABI – Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung had their first fight week encounter Thursday ahead of UFC on ESPN+ 38.
Ortega (14-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Jung (16-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC), who meet in Saturday’s featherweight headliner, got together for a staredown on the beach of “Fight Island” to help build further anticipation for their grudge match.
Given the history between Ortega and “The Korean Zombie,” who were originally booked to fight back in December, the faceoff remained civil. Both men brought the intensity but were able to keep professional as UFC president Dana White stood between them.
