Video: Alvin Kamara performs insane stability exercises

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is always in search of improvement. It’s part of what’s made him such a great player through his first two years in the NFL. So it’s natural that Kamara sought out Dr. Sharif Tabbah of Athletix Rehab & Recovery in Miami, looking for ways to train better and take the next step in his career.

What they came up with was more advanced stability and core muscle exercises, which both Kamara and Tabbah have shared on social media. Here’s a clip of Kamara balancing himself on a stability ball and catching batons thrown to him from Tabbah. Note that Kamara is catching a different-colored side of each baton with each toss. You can view the video where it’s embedded below, or by following this link.

Kamara has been working with Tabbah for about six weeks this offseason. While Tabbah’s clients are usually professional athletes recovering from surgery, Kamara is working with him simply to get even better. They’ve shared other videos in the past, which demonstrates the variety of workouts Kamara has gone through as well as the creativity he’s forcing his physical trainers to come up with to keep challenging him.

The Saints have one of the NFL’s rarest athletes in their backfield, and these workouts are a big source of his success. If Kamara’s offseason preparation is any clue, he’s prepared to reach even higher in 2019.
