How much you bench? Probably not as much as Mahailya Reeves.
The Union County High School (Lake Butler, Fla.) female weight lifter took to the bar for a max lifting session, pressing 360 pounds with ease. Reeves was surrounded by fellow Union County at a recent meet, lifted her weight then immediately sprang into celebration.
The 360 pound lift topped Reeves’ previous best of 355 pounds, set earlier this year.
There were wild cheers from the stands. There were hugs for her coach. Then there were more hugs with her coach, each side equally excited that Reeves hit her goal.
It made for one of the more touching scenes of the winter sports season, and one that will be hard for anyone to top.
