Vidal Sassoon came to London in May 2011 to promote the UK release of the documentary Vidal Sassoon: The Movie, directed by Craig Teper. Guardian film writer Andrew Pulver went to meet him. In an interview never heard before, Sassoon spoke passionately across a wide range of topics: from his difficult childhood growing up in the Jewish East End, through his early success as a fashionable hairdresser, and his later years as a entrepreneur and lifestyle guru.
