Conversion is the key for Melbourne Victory, who will head to Brisbane confident of turning the tables on a Roar team that ruined their A-League opener a month ago.
Brisbane beat Victory 3-1 in Melbourne on January 2 but since then Grant Brebner's side have steadied, and stabilised their defence with the addition of English defender Ryan Shotton.
Midfielder Jacob Butterfield said Victory needed to convert their early chances at Dolphin Stadium on Saturday to put the Roar on the back foot.
"The game flows on goals - or lack of goals in our case," he said.
"One of the Western (United) players said to me after (last week's 0-0 draw) 'I watched your games and you always dominate the first half and you start like a house on fire' and then it sort of flips a little bit in the second half, sometimes.
"But for us the message has been well when we're on top and creating chances, we need to start scoring - because if we go in (to halftime) 1-0 or 2-0 up, it's a completely different game."
Victory will be bolstered by the return of winger Callum McManaman from two games out with an ankle injury, while Robbie Kruse will also travel after being rested against Western United.
Roar playmaker Jay O'Shea said January's scoreline had "flattered" Brisbane and was wary of Victory.
"It's going to be a big challenge," O'Shea said.
"Just because we beat them last time doesn't mean we're going to roll them over again."
Young Roar striker Dylan Wenzel-Halls has enjoyed a superb start to the season, leading the line and scoring seemingly at will.
O'Shea and skipper Tom Aldred - who have both signed new long-term deals at Brisbane - both praised Wenzel-Halls' impact, while Brebner backed his defence to handle the 23-year-old.
"I would rather play against a good striker than an unknown striker, and I'd rather play against a striker in some form," Brebner said.
"Because then you know what's ahead of you - there's not gonna be any surprises."
