
A Victorian police officer is accused of assaulting a person with a weapon while on duty.
The 34-year-old male first constable was charged with unlawful assault and assault with a weapon following an internal investigation.
The charges relate to an alleged incident at Warrandyte, in Melbourne's northeast, in May last year.
The eastern region officer was on duty at the time.
He was charged on summons to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates Court in August.
