Impressive four-storey Victorian home hides incredible ball-pit playroom inside

From the outside this is a grand Victorian house looks like any other but behind the door is an extra-fun secret - a huge ball-pit playroom.

The family home, which was built in 1890, boasts classic period features and four floors with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, three reception rooms and a kitchen.

But it’s the basement that is the real show-stopper.

It features bright yellow walls with images of children playing on them, soft inserts towards the bottom of the walls for safety, a platform to jump off of and, of course, a sea of rainbow balls.

As well as the playroom, the current owners also have a large music room – perfect for keeping the kids entertained.

Outside, the fun continues with a large, well-kept garden that is currently home to a trampoline and slide.

Located in Abbey Park Road in Grimsby, the home is on sale via Roost Estate Agents and is listed at £475,000.

"In my 11 years in the industry, I’ve never seen a ball pit in a property, a random act of brilliance," Richard Ladd, Director of Roost Estate Agents, said.

Aside from the modern twists, it has all the grandeur you'd expect from a period property - a beautiful ornate staircase and balustrade, living room, sitting room and dining room.

It has a well-sized kitchen/diner complimented with oak bespoke fitted kitchen with integrated appliances (oven, hob, extractor, fridge and freezer), utility area, wc and side entrance lobby.

There is also a staircase from the first floor landing leading to the loft space with three further spacious loft rooms, ideal as additional bedroom accommodation.

The house retains many charming original features including high skirtings, deep plaster covings, beautiful tiled flooring, original internal doors with ornate door furnishings and many other gems.

After pictures of the unique property were shared on Facebook, viewers went wild for the fun addition in the basement.

One person said: “I want a ball pit too.”

“Brilliant – can’t help but feel underwhelmed by the kitchen after the effort put into the ball pit,” said another person.

Someone else commented: “Funny – all seems normal and then out of nowhere…”

“I would totally keep the ball room,” said another fan.
