An historical Victorian home in West Bridgford has been demolished without permission - with the council to "consider action".
Rushcliffe Borough Council said no permission was given to demolish the Victorian home in Bridgford Road.
The home was located close by to the Trent Bridge cricket ground and Musters Road junction.
It is believed the house was demolished at some point in the early part of this year.
The authority added it does not condone the actions of demolition and is considering what action can be taken.
A planning application had been submitted for extensions and alterations to the historical property, but demolition permission had not been sought by the owner.
A Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson told Nottinghamshire Live: “Permission was not given as part of the planning application to completely demolish the house and no subsequent authorisation for this work was secured.
“We do not condone the action taken on the site. We’re considering what courses of action that can be taken in line with central government guidance.
“The owner of the property has indicated an application for a replacement building on the site may be submitted in due course.”
