Victorian grandmother missing for a week

About 120 police and volunteers have been involved in the search for missing person Susan Shaw. (AAP)

Residents east of Melbourne have been urged to check their properties for a grandmother who has been missing for a week.

Susan Shaw, 67, hasn't been seen since police stopped her walking along Mount Donna Buang Rd at Warburton about 1.40am last Friday.

Locals have been asked to check their holiday homes, sheds and outhouses for Ms Shaw, as police believe she may be sheltering somewhere in the area.

While it's dense and rugged, police think someone could survive in the area for quite some time because of water availability and temperate weather conditions.

About 120 police and volunteers have been involved in the search for Ms Shaw, who was last seen wearing a green cardigan, jeans and bright pink short gumboots.

Her family and friends say her disappearance is out of character.

Anyone who spots Ms Shaw or who has any information is asked to contact Warburton Police Station on 03 5966 2006.
