A magnitude-4.8 earthquake occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, south-west of Murrayville near the South Australian border.
VicEmergency said the earthquake hit at 3:47am, with magnitude-3.0, 2.8 and 2.6 aftershocks occurring later throughout the morning.
The epicentre was around 10 kilometres from the South Australian border, and the earthquake occurred at a depth of around 2km.
The State Emergency Service said in a statement that little to no damage had resulted from the earthquake.
It comes two weeks after a magnitude-5.9 earthquake struck in the Alpine National Park near Mansfield in Victoria's north-east.
The September 22 earthquake struck at a depth of around 10km and was felt in Sydney, Launceston and Canberra.
However seismologist Hugh Glanville from Geoscience Australia said the two earthquakes were unrelated.
"This is one is unlinked, it's too far away to be linked to that one. It's more coincidental than any causality between the two," Mr Glanville said.
"They do tend to cluster occasionally in time like this, it's just more coincidental than anything else."
