Victoria's Secret UK arm could be about to become part of Marks & Spencer or Next.

The story broken by Sky News, said the two retailers are vying to be the lingerie's franchise partner in the UK.

It comes just weeks after Victoria's Secret UK was put into administration, a process being looked after by Deloitte.

The UK division is part of the global Victoria’s Secret group, owned by US beauty and fashion company L Brands.

The brand has been struggling for some time.

Last November Victoria Secret's cancelled its marquee show with the organisers citing criticism over sexism.

The event had faced dwindling television ratings and rising criticism for objectifying women and lacking diversity.

It was a milestone in the career of many supermodels, including Heidi Klum and Josephine Skriver.

M&S and Next declined to comment.
