Victoria records 116 new coronavirus cases, lowest since early July

ANOTHER 116 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Victoria.

Fifteen more have died from the virus since Sunday.

Monday's figures are a drop from Saturday and Sunday's reported new cases.

It is the lowest number of new Victorian cases reported in a day since early July.

On Sunday the state reported 208 new COVID-19 cases, and 17 deaths.

Saturday's number was lower, at 182 new cases. Thirteen Victorians had lost their lives.

Greater Bendigo reported one new active case of COVID-19 on Sunday, but an overall drop in active cases.

Department of Health and Human Services data showed 97 cases all time on Sunday, a rise from 96 on Saturday.

The total number of active cases in the city was 24, down one from the Saturday data.

A drop in the number of active cases could be due to recovery of a case, or cases.

OTHER NEWS:

Elsewhere in central Victoria active case numbers remained stable over the weekend.

The Macedon Ranges had 15 active cases. Campaspe and Central Goldfields each had one active case.

Mount Alexander, Loddon and Buloke shires remain without active cases.
