Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash in Melbourne's north.
Detectives said a vehicle hit a man on Sydney Road in Fawkner in the early hours of Saturday, leaving him lying on the road after the driver failed to stop.
The man, who died at the scene, has yet to be identified and was believed to be in his 40s.
Officers were called at about 1.40am.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage is bring asked to come forward.
