Victoria Derbyshire shares wedding day picture - and she looked gorgeous

Broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire has revealed for the first time a picture of her secret wedding - a year after she married the father of her two sons, producer Mark Sandell.

She tells how the impact of suffering breast cancer and having a mastectomy prompted her to wed her partner of 18 years.

She reveals how her sons Oliver, 14, and Joe, 12, proudly walked her down the aisle two years after she finished treatment.

The award-winning journalist said: "I remember thinking Mark and I should marry quickly in case I die. It was joyous and teary, and the most magnificent day of my life."

Stars to get naked and reveal VERY personal reasons for baring all on TV

Victoria walked into the church as a gospel choir sang the Beatles' All You Need Is Love.

And there was a moment as they exchanged vows which threw the presenter back to her illness. "I had to pause after saying 'in sickness' to hold back some tears," she wrote in the Sunday Times magazine . "But, breathing deeply, made sure I said 'and in health' boldly."

Victoria, 50 - who has her own BBC2 current affairs programme weekday mornings and has written a book about her cancer journey - has taken part in several charity runs, stripped off in ITV's The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night to encourage women to check their breasts, and won a BAFTA.

She said: "Before I was ill, I lived life to the full. Now it's off the scale.

"I'm impatient. I want to do everything because I might be dead in five years."
