There are 222 new cases of coronavirus in Victoria since Monday.

It is the third consecutive day the state has seen case numbers under 300 with 282 cases recorded on Monday and 279 on Sunday.

Overnight there were also 17 COVID-19 related deaths.

On Monday, the state government announced a $20.4 million funding package to support critical and immediate services targeting the perpetrators of family violence.

Greater Bendigo recorded four new COVID-19 cases on Moday, but the number of active cases dropped from 49 to 47.

No other municipality in central Victoria recorded a new case, although Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander shires each recorded a drop in the number of active cases.

There are currently 80 active cases across the region.

The state government will release regional daily numbers later on Tuesday.
