Victoria Beckham to guest-edit Vogue Paris

Victoria Beckham, accomplished fashion designer, is a title we are well used to around these parts. But VB, editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris , is a title (albeit temporary) that we did not see coming. Each Christmas the French glossy selects what it describes as "accomplished luminaries" to edit their January/February edition. Usually they opt for ridiculously chic Parisians whose DNA is riddled with fashion, music, art and entitlement. So it is a massive honour that the title has chosen a guest editor who doesn't come from a long line of fashion bohemians or have Coppola or Gainsbourg in their surname. The only other comparable British woman to have guest edited in the past is Kate Moss. It's that kind of level.

Editor Emmanuelle Alt says: "We handed over the running of the issue to a woman who, throughout our working together, has proved to be the exact opposite of her public image." She goes on to describe her as "spontaneous" with a GSOH and "a healthy ambition". There's no doubt the issue will be slick, with Inez & Vinoodh on snapping duty, David Beckham modelling, snippets about the Beckhams' private lives and a personal photo album. And I defy anyone (who has clicked on this story) not to want to look at snaps of Harper and the inside of VB's kitchen. You'll be able to on Monday 2 December.
