Victoria Beckham’s personal trainer gives insight into her gruelling workout regime

Victoria Beckham’s personal trainer has given fans an insight into workout regime revealing she has swapped her usual cardio for free weights and resistance training.

Victoria, 49, began training with British judo champion Bobby Rich as she enlisted the first class fitness coach last year to train her at the family’s £25 million home in Holland Park, West London.

Victoria is famous for her self-restraint, having followed a strict healthy eating regime since her Spice Girls days.

The 49-year-old star once admitted that when it comes to diet and exercise, she is 'very, very disciplined.'

The former Spice Girl has impressively maintained her fitness for years and previously told The Guardian’s Weekend magazine that her exercise routine begins between 5.30am and 6am with a 7km 45 minute run on the treadmill, which is "a mix of uphill fast walking, jogging, running".

Bobby then arrives at her private home gym for a sweaty session, sometimes joined by husband David, 48.

She added: "30 minutes legs, 30 minutes arms, toning and conditioning, then loads of planks and that kind of thing for my core.

"I work out every day when I’m at home. It’s part of who I am now, and I really enjoy it."

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Bobby gave an insight into her gruelling regime, revealing: "She is with me in the gym five days a week – and even if she's travelling, there are no excuses as we move to online sessions. She is putting the work in.

"I treat the year as a season and work through different training blocks, identifying peaks and recovery phases to get the most out of the incredible efforts Victoria puts into each session, mentally and physically."

Bobby explained that each workout consists of using her own body weight, resistance bands and ankle weights to achieve her goals.

Last summer Victoria clapped back at husband David’s claim she has 'eaten the same meal every day for 25 years' - confessing that his comments earlier made her 'sound boring'.

"I mean, talk about making me sound boring!" Victoria told Vogue, with the publication noting she rolls her eyes when discussing her husband's claim in her latest interview.

"No. What he meant is that he’s never met anyone who’s more disciplined with the way that they eat. I eat lots of healthy fat: fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing.

"I do drink alcohol, unless I have a reason not to. I’ll detox from anything for three to six months where I won’t drink. I’m quite extreme in anything I do, whether it’s eating or working out or drinking or not drinking."

Victoria went on to reveal that she takes Augustinus Bader skin supplements, pops Skinaide collagen peptide powder in her coffee and drinks apple cider vinegar each morning as part of her daily routine.

The former singer is also a fan of a new Gold’s Gym Diamond One device, an intense training session - telling Vogue: "I look at it and feel physically sick."
