Victoria Beckham quietly cashed in on her music career in 2024 without singing a note

Victoria Beckham is still hitting the high notes even without picking up a microphone.

The former Spice Girl earned more than £1.7 million from her music career last year, despite not recording a single new song. The 51-year-old star continues to profit from her pop legacy as royalties from the Spice Girls back catalogue and her 2001 self-titled solo album pour in more than two decades after she swapped stages for the fashion world.

The group’s 1996 debut album Spice was reissued on clear vinyl last October, while their feelgood hit Never Give Up on the Good Times featured in a Christmas advertising campaign, helping introduce the band’s music to a new generation of fans.

According to The Sun, accounts filed by Beckham’s company Moody Productions Ltd show she paid £338,174 in tax on her 2024 earnings.

While she has admitted to finding it challenging to be defined by her brief time in the charts, Beckham remains proud of what the Spice Girls achieved together.

“I still speak to all of the girls,” she said in a past interview. “I’m so proud of everything we did. I wouldn’t have been who I am now if it wasn’t for the Spice Girls, 100 per cent.”

Her pop payday comes amid renewed momentum for her business empire, with Victoria Beckham UK, her fashion and beauty label, finally moving into profit after years of losses. The brand has been buoyed by celebrity fans and a more commercially focused strategy.

Now Beckham is stepping back into the global spotlight once again with a new Netflix docuseries, Victoria Beckham, launching worldwide on October 9.

Directed by Nadia Hallgren, who previously made the Michelle Obama film Becoming, and produced by David Beckham’s Studio 99, the three-part series offers a rare glimpse into her transformation from pop star to fashion powerhouse.

It features behind-the-scenes moments from Paris Fashion Week and appearances from close friends and fashion icons including Anna Wintour, Tom Ford and Eva Longoria.

Fans will also be watching closely to see whether her eldest son Brooklyn makes an appearance, amid reports of tension between him, his wife Nicola Peltz and the Beckham family since the couple married and moved to the US.

Relations were said to have become further strained earlier this year when the pair renewed their vows but did not invite any of the Beckham family. They have also not publicly acknowledged recent family milestones, including birthdays and David Beckham being knighted.

From Wannabe to world-renowned designer, Beckham proves her brand of girl power is still paying dividends both on screen and off.
