Victoria Beckham proves she's still in the Cotswolds after rumours of London return

Victoria Beckham has proved she's still in the Cotswolds after rumours she'd returned to London with her family.

The former Spice Girls star, who is celebrating her 46th birthday today, has been isolating at her country home with husband David and three of their children.

Some of the locals were left upset after Victoria and David, 44, moved in with their kids Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper, eight, while their eldest son Brooklyn, 21, is in America.

The famous family faced backlash for heading to their rural second home to isolate during the pandemic, and sparked even more fury when people falsely believed they'd flouted rules against non-essential travel by heading back to London after David posted a video of people taking part in the Clap For Carers celebration last night, with what appeared to be a London street in the background.

Birthday girl Victoria settled the argument once and for all by posing up for an Instagram snap.

Posh Spice and fashion designer Victoria posed up in a tight-fitting green tracksuit, bright yellow trainers and a black cap as she straddled her bicycle.

The star looks back over her shoulder in the picture, as she poses up on a cobbled and gravelled path.

"Family bike ride on my birthday," she captioned it on Instagram.

"Happiest of birthdays," pal Lizzie Cundy commented, as hundreds of fans rushed to leave her their birthday wishes.

David and Victoria seemingly angered their Cotswolds neighbours after fleeing to their £6 million home, with some people who live there all year round branding them selfish.

A woman who works at a butcher's shop near the Beckhams' home in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, told MailOnline : "The Beckhams and these other fancy folks who think it's a good idea to self-isolate in the country are just being selfish."

A local councillor felt the same, saying: "Showing off your beautiful country mansion on social media and telling us all what a wonderful time you're having is just rubbing our noses in it. The Beckhams and other celebrities are just being stupid, irresponsible and insensitive."

Others felt the need to point out that the couple won't be getting any special treatment at local shops, and will have to wait their turn while the vulnerable and elderly are served first.

The Beckhams had headed to their countryside home before the UK was put under lockdown on March 23.
