Victoria Beckham launches 'everyday' fitness range with £35 socks

Victoria Beckham joined forces with Reebok to launch an ‘everyday’ range of fitness wear which includes £35 socks.

The 46-year-old’s website now includes the Reebok X VB range that is ‘versatile and adaptable.’

It reads: “The latest Reebok X Victoria Beckham collection is here. High-performance sportswear with everyday appeal, it’s versatile and adaptable.

“Bold new silhouettes and signature shapes are reimagined in a unique colour palette featuring scarlet red, burgundy and camel. High-performance sportswear with everyday appeal.”

Her range includes £79 sports bras, £109 leggings, and £249 joggers.

Posh Spice’s new collaboration comes despite the star’s fashion house losing almost £60 million over the last seven years.

Although her brand had its successes commercially, VBHL made a loss in 2019 during the launch of Victoria Beckham Beauty.

Annual pre-tax losses for 2019 hit £16.6m, up £4m in 2018. As far back as 2013, VBHL had a £3.4m operating loss. In 2014, it was £3.8m, by 2015 it hit £4.4m and a year later it was £8.2m.

And by 2017, it ran at a £10.2m loss. All this despite a number of cash injections to keep it afloat.

There were reports of the flagship Mayfair store - which closed in March 2020 - being empty, quiet and intimidating.

During the peak of the global pandemic, the multi-millionaire had to lay off 20 staff.

A source told The Sun: "These are really tough times and no one is exempt from the pandemic’s clutches.

“This business is her pride and joy.

“It has never been about money. She hasn’t even paid herself for the past three years."

A spokesperson for Victoria told the Mirror ar the time: "Like so many businesses, a challenging retail landscape coupled with the unforeseen effects of the coronavirus pandemic, has adversely impacted the Victoria Beckham business.

“As a response, we have built a new strategic vision to streamline and future-proof the brand and, very sadly, have to make a number of redundancies to deliver this."

It came around the time Victoria came under fire for using the government scheme to furlough 25 of her staff members.
