Victoria Beckham has admitted she wears earplugs at night because her husband David snores, but insists she’d never kick him out of their bed.
The 51-year-old fashion designer gave a rare glimpse into her marriage of 26 years in a new interview, reminding fans that behind the gloss of their half-a-billion-pound empire, she and David are still a normal couple. While promoting her triumphant new Netflix documentary about her career, Victoria spoke candidly about the little things that keep their relationship strong.
Laughing about her bedtime routine, she confessed: “That’s not healthy, you don’t want to do that… That’s why you’ve got to do the earplugs. I wear earplugs. Let me tell you, it ain’t for fun. What do you think I’m doing it for? It’s not to pull a look in bed. He might look like that, but breaking news, even my husband snores. I have to have the earplugs.”
Despite the occasional noisy night, Victoria said she wouldn’t dream of sending David to a spare room. Instead, she focuses on the positives of their family life and the quiet moments they share when the cameras aren’t rolling. She told The Sun they love watching dramas together, listening to podcasts and simply spending quality time as a couple.
Away from the spotlight, Victoria is a big fan of thrillers, with Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid’s Secret high on her reading list. She revealed she often recommends books to David, who due to his OCD habits buys his own copy a few days later rather than borrowing hers.
The Netflix documentary gave viewers a raw look at her journey, from global pop star to respected fashion designer. She admitted that filming it stirred up a lot of emotions. “It was emotional at times. There are certain things your mind has the amazing ability to forget because there were triggering things along the way,” she said.
Victoria also revealed she initially didn’t want the documentary to focus too much on the Spice Girls. “I went into this saying I didn’t want to talk about the Spice Girls because I’ve spent 20 years building this fashion brand. So I’m mindful I’ve been fighting these preconceptions that I’m just a celebrity face for 20 years. Only now do I feel I’ve earned my right to show in Paris.”
Launching her label back in 2008, she faced scepticism from the fashion world, but she has proven the critics wrong. Her Paris Fashion Week show this year marked a huge moment, unveiling her spring/summer 2026 collection – something she says would have been “unthinkable” two decades ago.
Today her brand brings in more than £115 million annually, dressing style icons such as Catherine, Princess of Wales, Michelle Obama and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
One of her signature kohl eyeliners sells every 30 seconds, and her £37 lipstick has become a cult favorite. With her flagship London store thriving, her next ambition is to expand into Paris and the US.
Despite the glamour, Victoria’s confession about earplugs and David’s snoring was a reminder that even the Beckhams have everyday quirks – proving that marriage, no matter how famous, comes with its little compromises.
