Victoria Beckham issues defiant message over marriage to David as they celebrate anniversary

Victoria Beckham issued a defiant message to 'doubters' of her and husband David's marriage as the couple celebrated their 23rd anniversary.

Spice Girl Victoria, then Adams, and footballer David have been together since 1997, when he was an emerging star at Manchester United. As both of their fame reached new heights, they married in 1999, a few years before David's move to Spain after he signed for La Liga giants Real Madrid.

It was during his time in Spain that he found himself at the centre of explosive cheating allegations, with PA Rebecca Loos exposing details of an apparent affair between her and the midfielder. The accusations against her husband are something that Victoria has never addressed publicly, with the family posing for pictures together in the immediate aftermath of the reports.

The Rebecca Loos scandal was now close to two decades ago and Victoria and David are very much still together, having four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. And, with a thinly veiled dig at critics, Victoria took to Instagram to post a photo of her and David to mark their latest anniversary.

Next to the picture, renowned fashion designer Victoria wrote: "They say he isn’t funny, they say I never smile, they said it wouldn’t last. Today we celebrate 23 years being married. David you are my everything, I love you so much!!!!"

At the time of writing, the post had been liked close to 500,000 times, with David's best mate Dave Gardner, one of the many to comment, replying: "Happy Anniversary," along with three love hearts. The couple's A-list friend Eva Longoria posted: "Happy anniversary to you both! We love uuuuu."
