Victoria Beckham has shared her sympathies for Liam and Noel Gallagher's mother during the brothers’ 15 year feud, saying "it must have been so tough" for her.
The fashion designer's comments have been interpreted as a reflection of her own feelings about her son Brooklyn's rift with his family.
Victoria, 51, and husband David, 50, are said to be at pains to bridge the gap with their eldest son, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, who have been notably absent from family gatherings this year.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Victoria talked about Oasis' much-vaunted reunion and her thoughts turned towards the Gallagher brothers' mother Peggy.
She said: "I just think their mum must be so happy, it must have been really tough on the mum, the boys not talking for all those years. And I just think as a mum, that must be … she must feel so happy to see her boys getting on."
Victoria spoke warmly about her close relationships with her four children but did not speak of Brooklyn. She said: "Harper’s still 14, so she’s living at home - so is Cruz, who is 20 - I see both of them every day. Romeo doesn't live at home, so I see a little less of him."
The newspaper disclosed that the interviewer was told in advance that any questions about the alleged fallout with Brooklyn "will not be answered".
It comes as Victoria prepares for the release of her Netflix documentary, 'Victoria Beckham' which will be available to stream from Thursday.
The mother-of-four has also been busy following a successful Paris Fashion Week show, which was publicly supported by her family apart from Brooklyn. Following the end of Friday's runway show, she was seen sharing a kiss with husband David.
The couple's youngest child, Harper, 14, could be seen filming clip of the show and heaping praise on her mother's designs, alongside famous guests.
The Beckhams' other sons, Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, were also at the show, along with Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostol.
Earlier this week, it was reported Victoria had said “enough is enough” and she can no longer “keep fighting the same fight” over her strained relationship with eldest son Brooklyn, as speculation about a long-running family rift deepens.
According to The Mirror, the fashion designer has reportedly drawn a line in the sand.
Ahead of her documentary dropping on Netflix, a source told the paper: “It was very much a roller coaster of emotions because of the big thing that’s still affecting her, her fractured relationship with Brooklyn.”
