Victoria Beckham is believed to be “gutted” after reportedly being forced to scale down plans for a wedding anniversary party because of coronavirus restrictions.
Posh Spice and her husband David celebrate 22 years of marriage on 4 July.
But with pandemic restrictions still in place, Victoria is said to have been forced to cut down her guest list which has put a damper on her dream of throwing a big celebratory bash.
"They [the Beckhams] had wanted to throw a huge party to celebrate their anniversary, as well as coming out of lockdown,” a source told Heat magazine.
"[But] They haven’t been able to do anything like that since Brooklyn’s 21 st , which happened just as the pandemic started and thought it would be a great opportunity to catch up with people they haven’t seen in over a year, and for everyone to let their hair down.
“So they are gutted, especially Victoria. For her, it was a chance to show just how happy and strong they are..."
It is believed Victoria, 47, had planned every detail for a spectacular bash, but with Covid restrictions having been extended until Monday 19 July, the Spice Girls star had no choice but to plan for a smaller party.
The couple share four kids, Brooklyn, 22, Romeo, 18, Cruz, 16 and Harper, nine.
They married in 1999 in an Irish castle and their relationship has survived for more than two decades despite suffering many ups and downs.
The source stressed to Heat: “Victoria has never felt happier and feels like they’re exactly where they should be.
“She just wanted everyone there to know how in love they are and that, no matter what they go through, they’re always still together.
“They were also hoping Brooklyn would be coming over from the US with his fiancée Nicola Peltz, as they’ve not seen them for months and she just wanted her whole family back together.”
For the couple’s 20 th anniversary, David, 46, pulled out all the stops by organising a once-in-a-lifetime date for his wife - a private tour of the incredible Palace of Versailles in France.
However, it is now believed the couple want to travel to Miami this summer to celebrate their anniversary, where David owns his football club.
“They now want to head back to Miami as soon as possible and be there for the big 4 th July weekend instead,” the source added. “They can celebrate with Brooklyn and Nicola, and her family.
“They are known for throwing extravagant parties – her father spends millions on parties, bringing in music acts and restaurants and entertainment. It’s such a huge weekend in the US, and a very fun one, too. And they get to celebrate two big occasions.”
