Victoria Beckham gives rare insight into little-known family member in Netflix series

Victoria Beckham gives fans a candid glimpse into her childhood with her rarely-seen mother Jackie Adams in her Netflix documentary.

The 51-year-old Spice Girls star turned fashion designer has vowed to open the doors into her private life in the three-part series, which drops on October 9.

In a new snippet from the docuseries, Victoria was seen talking about how her savvy mum would “dress up” and used stylish outfits to get upgraded on flights.

"Throughout my life, I've used clothes to become someone else, be the person that I always wanted to be, that maybe naturally I wasn't,” the singer said in the clip.

"I used to customise the school uniform in the bathroom at lunchtime. I used to love watching my mum get dressed up, you know she really cared and made the best of herself.”

"I remember my mum saying to me if you dress up to get on the aeroplane, if there's any chance of being upgraded they're always going to look at who looks the best.”

She quipped: “I mean the truth is, there is no first class on budget air lines."

The teaser was shared on Netflix’s Instagram account with the caption: “Victoria Beckham looks back on the importance of fashion in her life VICTORIA BECKHAM comes to Netflix October 9."

Victoria was born in Essex to parents Jackie and Anthony Adams, who ran a successful electronics wholesale business.

She was raised in the Hertfordshire village of Goffs Oak with her two younger siblings, Louise and Christian.

Her docuseries, Victoria Beckham, will show fans her journey "from the teenager who restyled her school uniform, to the Spice Girl who fought to be accepted by a notoriously demanding fashion industry,” according to Netflix.

In another video last week, Victoria broke down while discussing the struggles of running a fashion empire and tearfully revealed she was once “millions in the red”.

Her husband David also admitted in the trailer that the financial pressures left him “in a panic”.

The series will feature never-before-seen footage from inside the Beckham household as well as exclusive interviews with close friends including designer Tom Ford and actress Eva Longoria.

All four of the couple’s children appear in the documentary. Despite ongoing speculation about her relationship with eldest son Brooklyn, 26, Victoria has insisted he remains part of the project.

A preview clip showed him helping clear rainwater from the catwalk at her Paris Fashion Week show in September 2024 after a downpour threatened to derail the event.

The project follows the phenomenal success of the award-winning Beckham, David’s four-part Netflix documentary that became a global hit upon its release in 2023.
