Victoria Beckham FaceTimes NHS staff to thank them for their hard work on the coronavirus frontline

An emotional Victoria Beckham felt 'humbled' to chat with NHS staff about the hard work they're doing on the coronavirus frontline.

The Spice Girl called an NHS team in Scotland on FaceTime, and she shared their exchange with her 28 million followers on Instagram to give an insight into the struggles and challenges they're facing because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

During the chat the team told mum-of-four Victoria that they're finding it difficult being away from their loved-ones while keeping their distance in order to protect them.

"Yesterday I had the humbling opportunity to speak to an NHS team in Scotland, wrote Victoria, 45.

"Please have a look and listen to what they are saying.

"They are so inspiring and we all need to do our part in staying home and helping these incredible workers and their colleagues on the frontline."

In the video call Victoria told the team: "I hope you're feeling the love that the whole country is giving you.

"Every time I watch the videos of everybody clapping I get emotional."

And they told her they're heartened to be getting a lot of support while working hundreds of miles away from their families

Asked about their working hours, the team replied that they've been working 12 and half hour shifts every day, and they had just completed five days in a row.

They're grateful to have been offered meals and accommodation and to have formed a small community with their colleagues.

But they haven't seen their partners and families for a long time in order to keep them safe, she was told.

"You worry about them a lot at home not being able to see them and be close to them," said one.

The team also revealed that none of them have been tested for the virus.

To protect themselves at work they wear a mask, apron and gloves.

"If we're doing anything more serious with patients with corona you wear more fully protective PPE," explained one of the team.

And Victoria was told: "You have to assume anyone you see has the virus unless proven otherwise."

"It's so wonderful what you're doing. The country feels so humbled by everything that you're doing," Victoria told them

And she added: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
