Victoria Beckham breaks Spice Girls fans' hearts as she jets to US in tour snub

Victoria Beckham has broken the hearts of Spice Girls fans by jetting to the US on the eve of the band's first London show.

Posh Spice, 45, decided to sit the tour out so she could focus on her fashion business.

However, many devotees had been hoping she was plotting a surprise appearance at one of the London shows.

Their dreams were dashed today as Victoria jetted to the US hours before the band played their first show at Wembley Stadium.

She took to Instagram this afternoon to post a picture of herself meeting bosses at tech giant Apple in California.

Despite receiving an open invitation to go along to the Spice Girls gigs to watch, it seems Victoria won't be taking them up on the offer.

The Sun reports Victoria planned the trip deliberately to avoid having to go to the gigs.

A source said: "She has been invited, of course, but she knew sitting at home up the road would make her look bad too...

“So she decided to make herself scarce and take a tactical trip out of town."

The Spice Girls played the first of three shows at Wembley Stadium tonight.

They will be ending the reunion tour there on Saturday night.

The girl group were lucky tonight as the bad weather that blighted their previous show in Bristol cleared up.

Earlier in the week, they were all left totally soaked as the heavens opened while they were on stage.

Emma Bunton, Mel B, Geri Horner and Mel C tried to cover up in rain macs but they still got drenched.
