Victoria Beckham breaks social media silence in wake of Spice Girls announcement

Victoria Beckham has broken her social media silence in the wake of reports the Spice Girls are reforming – but she's keeping schtum on any talk of a tour.

The fashion designer has reportedly ruled herself out of a 2019 UK summer stadium tour, which is expected to be announced by Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton this afternoon.

Beckham instead posted a picture of her daughter Harper ahead of setting off for her first day back at school after the half term.

She captioned the Instagram shot with a thumbs up emoji and the words: “The beret is back! Bring on the winter uniform.”

Bunton confirmed a Spice Girls announcement will drop after 3pm this afternoon after she was grilled by her Heart radio co-host Jamie Theakston.

After reading out a headline from The Sun he said: “It’s time to get the exclusive from Emma Bunton. The truth. It’s the story everyone is talking about. Look at me straight into my eyes. Tell me.”

Bunton replied: “Don’t look me in the eyes Jamie Theakston. I can’t [give anything away]. You’re not going to break me this morning.

“Everything will be announced just after three o’clock today on social media. You can go to @SpiceGirls. Please, don’t look at me anymore because I might just blurt it out. I’m so excited. I just want it out there.”

Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel C and Mel B are expected to announce a summer stadium tour via a mock news bulletin.

The news will come nine months after the girl group reunited at Horner’s house to confirm plans to celebrate the belated 20th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe.

They last hit the road for The Return of the Spice Girls world tour in 2008 before reuniting for a one-off performance at the London 2012 Olympic games which saw them perform atop black taxis.
