Victoria Beckham and Mel B's new friendship after decades of bitter feuds

After decades of feuds and bitter spats, Spice Girl 'frenemies' Mel B and Victoria Beckham have hinted that their friendship has turned over a new leaf.

Taking to Instagram, Mel B (AKA Scary Spice) publicly thanked her 'sister' Victoria, sharing a photo of them together to her 1.5million followers.

The 46-year-old paid tribute to her former bandmate for designing a stunning red dress she wore to receive her MBE at Buckingham Palace.

In the snap, showing the pair of them in a warm embrace, she wrote: "My spice sister vic, I can’t thank you enough for your enormous generosity. Not only did you dress me and my mum but you surprised me by actually being there to fit us…….it was just soooooooo special thanks to YOU and your fabulousness

"Honestly what a perfect ending to a magical day you booked a lovely dinner together with both our families wowza 25 years of friendship and we still like each other haha I love you lots."

Mel B was awarded her MBE for her charitable work in raising awareness for domestic violence and supporting vulnerable women.

After splitting from her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte in 2017, she claimed she suffered abuse - allegations Belafonte has repeatedly denied.

According to Closer Magazine, Posh threw her support behind Mel following news of her experience, as a source said: "Learning the trauma Mel went through was a turning point for Victoria, who became one of Mel's biggest confidantes.

"Vic realised how silly their squabbles had been in comparison to what Mel had been through."

The source went on to say that she has since become one of Mel's "closest friends" and is is reaching out when she "needed someone to cry to."

They added: "Mel's opened up t her which has created a bond and they've ended up becoming the closest out of all the girls."

Mel was greeted by Prince William, 39, who handed her the Member of the Order of the British Empire medal – which she later proudly posed with outside the palace, smiling.

Speaking to PA about her award following the ceremony, Mel said: "I never thought I would be here getting this MBE for the work I’ve been doing.

"It’s amazing to have but it’s not just for me – it’s for all those other women.

"Especially because of Covid, there’s been such an epidemic of domestic violence, that’s been completely on the rise, and you know I’ve got an army of women behind me that need help and need to be heard.

"So I’m their voice because we’ve all been through exactly the same story, so I don’t take it as it’s my award because it’s our award because we’ve survived."

Earlier this month, Posh Spice also took to her Instagram Stories to share a group photo of herself, Mel B and their mums celebrating Mel's MBE achievement.

She called her friend Mel B a "true role model" as the group donned their special Victoria Beckham designed ensembles.

The pair have had a rocky friendship over the years following a series of bitter feuds and spats.

According to Closer Magazine, Victoria and Mel fell out in Hawaii after the band was formed in 1995 following reports Posh was outraged after watching Mel's then-holiday fling go for a poo on the beach.

Mel also made no secret of her upset after Posh refused to attend the Spice Girl's reunion tour in 2019.

But insiders later told Closer magazine that former bandmate Geri had since stepped in to mediate and the girls had called a truce, which seemed to be confirmed when Mel attended Brooklyn's wedding.

A source added to the publication that Mel has been an "incredible support to Vic over the last couple of years" and they have "vowed to never let a silly squabble come between them again."
