Victoria Beckham admits she was 'very emotional' at Brooklyn's wedding and hails David's speech 'beautiful'

Victoria Beckham has opened up with new details about her eldest son Brooklyn's wedding.

The former Spice Girl admitted she became "very emotional" as she watched her eldest son get married alongside her husband David.

Aspiring chef and photographer Brooklyn tied the knot to his fiancé Nicola in a star-studded ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida in April.

The wedding was held at the oceanfront estate of Nicola's billionaire financier father, Nelson, less than two years after the pair announced their engagement in July 2020.

Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, have since been settling into married life, making their first public appearance together at the Met Gala before a trip to the UK.

Fashion designer and former singer Victoria opened up about the big day in a new interview with Grazia magazine. She said:

"It's a big deal, your child getting married. I was very emotional. David's speech was beautiful."

The guest list was studded with other stars, including Spice Girls bandmates Mel B and Mel C, TV chef Gordon Ramsey, Hollywood actress Eva Longeria, and Serena and Venus Williams among others.

Victoria donned a sophisticated slip dress for the big day, looking stunning on the arm of her husband.

"It took me quite a while to figure out what I wanted to wear," the mother-of-four said of her outfit.

"The day wasn't about me, it was about Brooklyn and Nicola. So I wanted to look appropriate, and really to be comfortable and to feel like myself."

The gown's gorgeous fabric was made exclusively at one of Victoria's favourite mills in Italy, producing an effect which was fluid-like and metallic.

Three kinds of laces were cut by hand and embroidered onto the dress by six of Victoria's London atelier team in a "labour of love".

Apart from the outfits and the ceremony, the family also called in the help of family friend Marc Anthony for the entertainment, who is also their son Cruz Beckham's godfather.

The performed four songs while DJ Fat Tony took over the decks for the afterparty.

"Marc and Fat Tony did an amazing job too – they always do," Victoria said. "It seems like yesterday that David was holding Brooklyn in his little purple cowboy hat and outfit at our wedding – now our baby is married."
