Victoria And Albert Museum Seeks Swiftie Superfan Advisor Role

Taylor Swift

London's renowned Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) is embracing contemporary culture by seeking a dedicated Taylor Swift fan to serve as a 'Superfan Advisor.' This British Swiftie will be engaged on a zero-hours part-time contract to offer insights into fan culture and the memorabilia associated with Swift enthusiasts.

Swifties, as Taylor Swift fans are affectionately known, often exchange friendship bracelets at her concerts, and the V&A is particularly interested in the craftsmanship behind these tokens of fandom, as well as the handmade signs displayed at Swift's events.

The V&A has also advertised for Superfan Advisors in various other areas, including Crocs footwear, drag, emojis, tufting, Lego, Pokemon cards, Gorpcore fashion, and Toby jugs. These advisors will assist the museum in understanding its collection better and identifying current cultural trends that may influence future acquisitions.

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to interact with V&A curators, share their expertise on their chosen subjects, delve into the historical significance of these objects, and explore how they contribute to art, design, and creativity moving forward. They will also gain exclusive access to behind-the-scenes views of relevant items from the museum's collection.

V&A Director Tristram Hunt expressed enthusiasm for the new advisory roles, emphasizing their role in uncovering the diverse creative offerings at the museum and shedding light on design narratives that resonate with contemporary audiences.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, currently touring Asia, is set to kick off its European leg in Paris on May 9, with three concerts scheduled at London's Wembley Stadium on June 21, 22, and 23.
