Victor Wanyama not sold on £13m Club Brugge move after Tottenham strike deal

Tottenham have agreed a fee of around £13million with Club Brugge for Victor Wanyama, with the Belgian club eager to complete the transfer on Friday.

Spurs want to offload the Kenyan, who has fallen down the midfield pecking order after a series of knee injuries, before the European transfer deadline on Monday.

It is thought Wanyama has concerns over the move and Brugge have made it clear they will move on to other targets if he does not agree before the end of the day.

Brugge have reached the Champions League group stage and manager Philippe Clement has previously worked with Wanyama.

The 28-year-old joined Spurs from Southampton in 2016 for £11m and formed a colossal partnership with Mousa Dembele in the middle of the park.

But a serious knee injury restricted him to just eight Premier League starts in the following season, which dropped to just four last term, when he became the second member of his family to reach a Champions League Final, following his brother McDonald Mariga Wanyama in 2010 with Inter Milan.

Wanyama's chances have been further restricted by the club-record signing of Tanguy Ndombele for £55m in the summer and the emergence of youngster Oliver Skipp.
