Victor Wanyama goes from Celtic super agent to Alistair Johnston's personal trainer as star reveals hilarious text exchange

Alistair Johnston hilariously revealed Victor Wanyama told him to hit the gym in order to keep the trophies flowing at Parkhead,

The Celtic right-back played alongside Wanyama at Montreal and said the former Hoops midfielder played his part in convincing him to make the switch to Scotland - labelling him "the best agent Celtic could have." But now he's got the big Kenyan in his ear about his physique, demanding he starts hitting the gym if he wants to keep winning trophies.

Johnston already has his hands on two and can add a third next month when Celtic face Inverness CT in the Scottish Cup final. But Waynama isn't settling for that as Johnston told Celtic TV: "Big Vic, legend. What a guy. We're still in contact. He's been really excited. He keeps sending me texts congratulating me on winning trophies. That's one of the funniest things he said. 'Alistair, you've got to get in the gym so you can work on picking up the trophies.' Fair enough, because he's a big lad."

Johnston also gave Nashville coach Steve Guppy, once a winger at Parkhead, the credit for his crossing ability. He added: "I'll let (Guppy) have that credit. He had a wand of a left foot this guy, like a joke.

"My other coach at Nashville would take me out thirty minutes before training and had me doing stepovers. 100 left, 100 right and after six months of doing it he came up to me and said 'you know what Alistair, I don't think stepovers are for you.' I was like 'It took you six months to realise? I knew from day one I wasn't a stepover guy.

"But yeah we were whipping balls for hours on hours. (Guppy) had a wand of a left foot. You can see the highlights from here at Celtic, some of the crosses he put in. That was really cool, that was a connection (with Celtic)."
