Victor Osimhen's transfer preference made clear amid Man Utd links after PSG 'meeting'

Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a move to sign Victor Osimhen this summer.

The Nigerian international has been in sensational form for Napoli so far this season, scoring 21 goals in 26 matches across all competitions. He is the outright top scorer in Serie A, having struck 19 teams in the league, as Luciano Spalletti's men have romped to a seemingly unassailable lead at the top of the table.

That has sparked interest from across Europe for Osimhen's services, with several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the striker. Manchester United have been the most notable of the English onlookers in the race to land the highly-rated forward, while Chelsea and Newcastle have also been linked.

However, according to L'Equipe, PSG have placed Osimhen on their transfer list ahead of the summer window alongside Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Benfica hotshot Goncalo Ramos.

PSG director Luis Campos has been busy lining up potential targets - particularly a new No.9 - and Osimhen, it's claimed, has moved to the top of the queue after impressing for the Partenopei this term.

A move for the 24-year-old could be tough to complete, considering Osimhen has seemingly set his sights on the Premier League. However, PSG still managed to hold a meeting with Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda earlier in the week in an attempt to convince the player to move to the Parc des Princes.

PSG boast a successful relationship with Napoli after a multitude of transfers between the clubs in recent years. Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani and Fabian Ruiz are amongst the players to swap Naples for Paris and there's hope in Paris that Osimhen could be next.

Interested parties in Osimhen face paying big money to land him. Rai report that Napoli value Osimhen at £133million.

The Red Devils could be looking for a striker in the summer considering that Wout Weghorst is their only fit centre forward at the moment and he is set to return to Burnley at the end of the season. And former United striker Odion Ighalo believes it would be a good move for Osimhen should he move to Manchester.

"I think it's a good fit because he is a young boy, he runs and he can score goals," the ex-Red Devils striker told Sky Sports. "Having Victor Osimhen and Rashford in the top at Manchester United will cause any defender panic, because they are two fast players and they are goalscorers.

"I think he will fit in Manchester United so well. If he asked for my opinion and what should he do, I would advise him to join Man United because, for me, they are the biggest club." Opening up on relationship with the 23-year-old, Ighalo added: "I know him so well, he's like a brother to me."
