Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Tuesday, May 26.

Victor Osimhen, Joshua King and the seven candidates

Some notable players have worn Tottenham’s number nine shirt during the club’s history, but it is currently vacant.

The likes of Vincent Janssen, Roberto Soldado, and Roman Pavlyuchenko have been bestowed the shirt in recent years, but rarely have they looked convincing.

The need for a new, successful, number nine at Spurs this summer is great, and there are no shortage of potential candidates.

Alasdair Gold's Facebook Live Tottenham Q&A

The club have been linked with a raft of strikers this year, but with the club’s summer spending likely to be limited somewhat in the wake of the coronavirus, who is most likely to be heading to North London to take up the role?

Alasdair Gold looks at the potential candidates, and you can read it here.

Joao Sacramento’s importance to Jose Mourinho, Luis Campos’ role and what it means for Tottenham

Jose Mourinho has been keen to install his preferred staff at Tottenham in a bid to instigate a new era at the club.

Mourinho spent almost two decades with Rui Faria as his second in command, but Faria’s decision to pursue a career as a manager forced Mourinho to consider a new right-hand man.

Enter Joao Sacramento.

The former Lille coach was hired by Tottenham to support Mourinho, and Alasdair Gold has looked at Sacramento’s importance to Mourinho and Spurs going forward.

Alasdair has also studied why Mourinho is so eager to bring Luis Campos to the club.

A recruitment guru, Campos worked with Mourinho at Real Madrid as a scout, and after successful spells at Monaco and Lille, is ready to reunite with his compatriot in North London.

Timothy Castagne talks about his future amid Tottenham Hotspur transfer links

Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne has refused to rule out a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Castagne, 24, has excelled for the Italian side this season but he has admitted that he would be open to a move to the Premier League.

Spurs have been linked with several full-backs including the likes Paris Saint-German defender Thomas Meunier and Ajax starlet Sergino Dest.

"I am happy in Italy, life is not so different to in Belgium, apart from obviously the language issue,” Castagne told Belgian media RTBF, via Football Italia.

"I’ll tell the truth if I could choose my next destination, I’d lean towards England. I like that Premier League style of football, but I don’t have a preferred club. They are all good.”

George Smith looks at the wider implications of Castagne’s quotes and what may need to happen for a move to come off.
