Orta on how Brexit will create new transfer opportunities
Victor Orta has explained how the arrival of Brexit will present new transfer opportunities for Leeds United.
The club secured a handful of talented new players this summer in the wake of promotion using the current guidelines for transfers and work permit rules. It is expected that things could change once Brexit is officially finalised and the UK departs the European Union. That has not concerned Orta, however, with the Spaniard believing it could provide great opportunities for Leed to excel.
"The regulations in England are changing after Brexit," Orta told the World Football Summit on Tuesday. "Next week we will know the next regulation, now a Brazilian or an Argentinian can be the same as a Spaniard, then obviously we need to [understand] any situation from the DTI.
"We are waiting and then perhaps it's true that one of the things about Brexit is opening new markets in South American because now we can be more open to trying to get them with the situation for new work permits that is necessary to play here. I think we need to be really clever"

Leeds' Maradona tributes
Leeds United have paid tribute to Argentina legend Diego Maradona, in the wake of his passing, aged 60.
The club took to social media to celebrate the life of Maradona, posting, "Artist. Icon. Legend. Rest in peace, Diego Maradona."
The World Cup winner was one of the finest players in football history, and sadly suffered a heart attack at home before undergoing successful surgery on a brain clot. The Argentine FA confirmed the devastating news on Twitter.
"The Argentine Football Association, through its President Claudio Tapia, expresses its deepest sorrow for the death of our legend, Diego Armando Maradona," it read.

How promotion has impacted Whites' fanbase
Leeds United's long-awaited return to the Premier League has brought with it many benefits.
The club is now playing at some of the biggest stadiums in English football such as Old Trafford, Anfield, St James' Park and Stamford Bridge once again and that has helped raise the club’s image.
A new study by Samford University in the United States has found that Leeds are garnering greater interest and more ‘Generation Z’ supporters than any other potential demographic. For the full report, a link can be downloaded from the Samford University website.
The study found that 'over 55,000 people have started following Leeds United F.C. on social media since the beginning of the 2020 EPL season'.
Of that 55,000, near 50% were seen to be under the age of 30 with a slant of 85% being male.
“Sponsors are scrambling for ways to connect with younger customers and Leeds United’s growing Generation Z fanbase will be a great option,” Darin D. White stated, author of the Samford University report.
