Following a summer in which Victor Orta and Leeds United broke the club's transfer record, the Spanish Director of Football has outlined his plans to take the club to the next level.
While at the unveiling of the brand-new Kalvin Phillips mural on The Calls in Leeds city centre, Orta spoke extensively about his own future and that of the club.
He dispelled any rumours that he would be joining Roma in a similar capacity, and stressed that speculation over his future was a non-story at a big club like Leeds, because he believes he is merely "a small part" of the club as a whole.
"Don’t believe all that happens in the press, it’s not true.
"I feel really happy here," he insisted, and conveyed sincerely.
Orta did divulge his aims for the club in a commercial sense, hoping that the new partnership with US entertainment franchise Roc Nation would help put the club on the map in North America, as well as Asia.
"We want to grow in the States, we want to grow in Asia.
It’s one of the partnerships that shows where Leeds United is now, the year of the returning to the Premier League, [it's about finding] what kind of companies are going to find synergy with us."
On a more personal note, Orta still feels he has unfinished business with the club and would not entertain any suggestions that his professional ambitions were being harboured elsewhere.
"I feel really proud to make history [with promotion] and obviously I feel now relief because Leeds United are in the Premier League and that is the first step.
"Obviously we need sustainable growing and perhaps with sustainable growing we can put this team in a European competition in two or three years."
It would mark immense progress if Leeds were to return to European football by 2023-24, twenty years following their last relegation from the top flight, but Orta is a man of ambition.
Suggestions that Leeds have the capability to be a European side in the years to come are premature at best - they have only just returned to the Premier League and play their tenth top flight game in 16 years this weekend. Orta remains confident Leeds can achieve their goals through working closely with one another.
He stressed throughout his interview that collective team spirit would be key to succeeding as one, and that his support of Bielsa's work was unwavering.
At present the club are in the bottom half, but well clear of the relegation places. Their next test comes in the form of perpetual Europa League challengers Everton, which will prove to be a true acid test of Leeds' European preparedness.
Marcelo Bielsa's men will take on Carlo Ancelotti's group at Goodison Park this weekend, in yet another tough, but winnable game.
