Victor Lindelof's Sweden howler has Manchester United fans all saying the same thing

Victor Lindelof's season reached a new low on Wednesday night.

The Manchester United defender, part of a back line at Old Trafford that has shipped 11 goals in the last four matches, dropped a clanger for Sweden in World Cup qualifying at Georgia.

Georgia were already 1-0 ahead thanks to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia when he picked the ball up on the halfway line and thought about making himself a hero.

Kvaratskhelia headed for Lindelof and the United defender, inexplicably, tried to clear the ball rather than make a tackle and ended up whacking it against the Georgia winger, who was given a clear run on goal and slotted home past Robin Olsen.

Although Georgia are unlikely to qualify for next year's World Cup in Qatar and Sweden are two points clear of Spain at the top of Group B, Lindelof will want to forget his error soon.

His mistake comes a day after an interview was published in which he addressed criticism of United and their form this season.

“When you play for United, there will always be a lot of media coverage," he said. "It goes up and down in football.

“We have performed very well in football as well. If you get some bad results, clearly a lot is written. Internally, we’re just trying to work hard and try to reverse the bad results.

“We have not got the results and performed as we wish. It hasn’t been the best possible, but that’s the way it is in football. It’s about coming back and working harder.”

Lindelof is back in United's team having been dropped after two matches.

However, he has come in for some considerable criticism, along with his team-mates in defence, for his performances in recent weeks.

And United fans have weighed in on his big error in Georgia...
