Victor Lindelof's message to Man Utd fans amid Barcelona transfer speculation

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has insisted he is not thinking about a potential move to Barcelona .

The Sweden international defender has been linked with a surprise move to the Spanish champions, who have missed out on Matthijs de Ligt.

The 24-year-old established himself as first choice at Old Trafford last term, having initially struggled to make an impression in the Premier League following a £30million switch from Benfica in 2017.

And that led to suggestions that the Catalan giants could make a move for the Swede, with his agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, doing little to quash links earlier this month with his claim that "Lindelof is in the orbit of a great European club".

But Lindelof, speaking to ESPN, has declared that he is not contemplating a Red Devils exit.

"I'm not the kind of person who thinks about that.

"I'm here, I'm very happy here. That's my focus. Manchester United is my club.

"I represent this club with great honour."

United are due to face Tottenham in the International Champions Cup in Shanghai on Thursday, with Lindelof set to feature after being forced off in Saturday's win over Inter Milan.

He took part in full training on Tuesday and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed he's fine to participate on Wednesday - if the game goes ahead, amid torrential rain.

The game will be staged at Hongkou Stadium, but Solskjaer says there are no worries about the pitch.

"I assume the pitch is fine," said Solskjaer. "We were sent a video by our staff of the training pitch earlier in the say – and it was flooded.

“But there is no problem now. The heat has helped us. Everything has been spot-on for us so far.”
